Snow Day Signal provides estimated probabilities of school closures and delays based on weather forecasts and historical data. This is an informational tool only.
3. No Guarantee of Accuracy
Weather predictions are inherently uncertain. Our closure probabilities are estimates based on available data and should not be relied upon as definitive predictions. Always check official announcements from your school district.
4. Not Official Information
Snow Day Signal is not affiliated with any school district, government agency, or official weather service. Our predictions do not represent official closure decisions.
5. Limitation of Liability
Snow Day Signal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any decisions made based on our predictions, including but not limited to travel plans, work arrangements, or childcare decisions.
6. Data Sources
We use data from the following public sources. We do not control these sources and cannot guarantee their availability or accuracy:
- National Weather Service (NWS) - forecasts and alerts
- Open-Meteo - historical weather observations
- NOAA - 30-year climate normals
- Iowa Environmental Mesonet (IEM) - snowfall reports and historical alerts
- Third-party school closing data feeds
- Zippopotam.us - ZIP code geocoding
7. Intellectual Property
The forecast model, algorithms, and original content on Snow Day Signal are proprietary. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute our prediction methodology without written permission.
8. Advertising
Snow Day Signal may display third-party advertisements. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any advertisers. Your interactions with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
